Virginia Guitar Directors Association - October 2022

Dear Guitar Gurus,

We are very excited about this year’s sessions for guitar at the 2022 VMEA Professional Development Conference that will take place from Nov. 17 - 19 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. If you have not registered, keep in mind that “Early Bird Registration” ends on Oct. 15. For more information go to: https://www.vmea.com/vmea-conference .

This year’s offerings will include several sessions to support those new to teaching the guitar. The new VGDA Graded Ensemble Repertoire will be presented and discussed and will certainly prove a useful tool for your ensemble selections. There will be two ukulele features. One is a session titled, “Approaches to Using Ukulele with Elementary and Middle School General Music Classes” and the annual Ukulele Flash Mob.  Please join us in celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the All-Virginia Guitar Ensemble on Nov. 18 at 1 pm!
